Two America’s-One Elected-One Not
While the Average Joe the Plumber is feeling the pinch of increased energy cost, increased food cost and a shaky economy, it’s good to know that the members of Congress are going to be OK.
The members of Congress saw their collective wealth grow by 13 percent last year, leaving them in better shape than most Americans.
Two of every three senators are millionaires, and that includes presidential candidates Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.

Wouldn’t John McCain be between Sen. Kennedy and Sen. Rockefeller as his wife’s fortune is around 100 million? Sen. Kerry is #1 because of his wife.
Umm, well isn’t Obama’s wealth largely the result of book sales, and McCain’s the result of marrying well?
This bit of information should really piss-off Guy Fawkes.
He has it in for Parliament types you know.
‘specially the House of Lords, which is what these guys sound like!
(Still no explanation from Tom why McCain’s not up there at #4 with his beer heiress dowry while Kerry IS up there with his kethcup heiress dowry. Probably Tom copied this off of Drudge or WorldNetDaily unquestioningly. * CRICKETS * )
Sorry to disappoint you, but I got the numbers from the non partisan Center for Responsive Politics/Open Secrets
As to your Mccain/Kerry complaint, I don’t alter the numbers, I just report them.
