To our readers:

I hereby resign as webmistress and editor of Orange Juice Blog. In fact, I’m taking Thomas Gordon and Carl Overmyer with me over to The Centrist OC and resetting the layout of this site. I am inviting all of the OJ bloggers as well as our readers to join us in contributing to our new site. Please note: as each blogger owns the intellectual property of their work they are free to do with it as they please. As the site designer, I personally own the rights to that. Accordingly, the actions taken here today are not actionable legally or in any other way.

We’re tired of Art’s neglect of some of us. Also, people are not happy about Sean Mill coming back (I only wanted him here for professional reasons) or Art’s off-the-wall stories (i.e. ‘Bustamante may have been drunk when he hit a police car’), so we’re choosing new teams. We’d love to have you all on ours.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you in the future.

    Huh?
Is this another cheap OJ stunt?

  2. avatar anon says:

Well the obvious first question would be…is this a joke?

  3. avatar cook says:

    Interesting.

Hang out with me grand kids downtown Santa Ana for the day and the whole world changes.

I guess this means more competition for the ordinary blog reader.

  4. This is not a joke. In fact, the writings of Carl, Thomas, and I have already been moved over to the Centrist and removed from this site. See for yourself!

The other authors have until tomorrow to have their content removed from this site but are welcome to have them cross-posted as well, provided all new articles go to the Centrist ONLY. There will be no systematic cross-posting from any Centrist authors from this point forward.

Art ~ If she went so far as to take all of her other content with her, please also delete this post of hers. You don’t need to advertise for her. I know your follow-up post was concilatory, but this entire thread should go.

BTW, the bare site is much cleaner without all of the ads and harsh color contrasts. Unless you were earning income from the ads consider dropping them. About the only change I’d make is to add a after “Orange Juice!” in the headline, that way the “Politics for the Rest of Us” would all appear on one line of text.

  6. avatar Art Pedroza says:

    Meddlesome Nobody,

I thought about that, but I want folks to know what happened. And I don’t mind the competition. There is plenty of room in the OC for more blogs. I just wish that Sarah and company could have left in a friendly manner, but oh well. No use crying over spilled milk.

  7. You’re certainly crying plenty in email, let me tell you. Telling me the LP wants to throw me out already because of something that has nothing to do with them. What did they honor you for? What have you done? You started this blog. Good for you. *I* made it great and everyone knows it… even you deep down. You ran for office. You lost because you decided to disregard any advice I wanted to give you. You sold out not two WEEKS after you started your run. You’ve only paid me $200 for EIGHT MONTHS WORK! What do you stand for Art?

Seriously, do you EVER take constructive criticism or do you just ignore it until people feel the need to knock you back into reality? You’ve never helped any of us and never apologized for that. Let’s not even talk about the things I hear you’ve been saying behind our backs. Even if they’re not true, I at least know in my case you did nothing to stand up for me when people said nasty things to my face. Paul Lucas verbally assaulted me for being transsexual and yet you said NOTHING to Jeff LeTorneau at ECCO or anyone at DPOC as Paul garnered the undeserved endorsements. Oh, wait, I helped secure your LPOC and ECCO endorsements – and you wrote me a one line email calling Paul ‘disgusting’ (no shit, really?). You’re welcome.

  8. And by the way. I AM sorry it had to be this way. Unfortunately, the design belonged to me and as we all know, it’s easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission, so I took it back. I do appreciate what Art did for me, even if it was less than he’d like to admit, and even though he seems incapable of ever admitting fault for anything, let alone apologizing, but *I* apologize for what I felt I had to do.

Again, since I didn’t take anything from this site that isn’t mine (and restored a fully-functional former layout), I hope it’s clear that I intended to keep my integrity in this situation. I hope we’ll look back and laugh at this someday. This is strictly business. I wish things had worked out differently, and despite my anger at the moment, I hope things work out for the best for everyone involved. I’ve asked Art to keep me on as an occasional author. We’ll see how he reacts, but I just don’t want to be overlooked anymore, nor do my fellow bloggers at the new site. If Art decides to have nothing to do with me, remember, I put my heart and soul (and many all-nighters) into this site at the detriment of my own health and financial situation) and I hope people don’t overreact, but people are going to do what they want to do.

    HaHaHaHa………. I told you so!
But you have held longer than others.
Actually Michele Martinez holds record of 1 1/2 years and destruction of her political future because of hanging with Pedroza.

Cant wait on psychopath Pedroza to post O-Juicy posts about you.
But you are sick too so delete this post.

  10. avatar Anonymous says:

Ha Ha, this is like watching two year old kids fighting over who gets to play in the sand box…..Adults acting like kids, you got to love this!

  11. avatar anon says:

While I appreciate the fact that you’ve broken from Art (as most people seem to inevitably do), weren’t you willing at the time to pass Art’s “drunk Bustamante” story off as “just a joke” and/or “sarcasm”? I dunno, perhaps you regret defending that story.

  12. avatar Stanley Fiala says:

#11 Give her a break!….. There is such thing like a team work and loyalty. In such case you always blame the boss, in this case Pedroza.

  13. anon-

I regret a lot of things, and I won’t say which, but sometimes you do things out of loyalty. Besides, I said some people had a problem with the Bustamante story; I never said I did.

The bottom line is that Art’s crazy stunts get him a lot of hits, and since a lot of people go to OJ for material like his and I try to be a much more serious blogger, he and his writing style always seemed to overshadow my, and indeed our goals. It’s just time to do my own thing.

If you go to OJ, you can see that I put it back together for him and I wish Art luck. We’ll still work together, but it’s time we do it with a little distance between us. His rules there were weak, at times subjective, and often went unenforced.

I could never leave his site messed up and when it was all over, I only took from the site what Thomas, Carl, and I contributed, and even left him with a design that I also created, so I’m going to remain an author over there, but I no longer want to be responsible for the actions of the entire group. I just was never compensated well enough to justify it, and frankly, with the economy the way it is, many of us have much larger problems.

It’s a lot like how my girlfriend and I just broke up because we can’t afford to stay together (long, personal story). We’re still friends, we just need to do what we need to do to survive.

  14. Stan,
You and I frequently don’t agree, but on this (post 12) we certainly do!

#11, yes and for many reasons.

  15. avatar Stanley Fiala says:

Let it be big surprise to you Carl, but in absence to your consciousness we always agreed.

However, for the above stated reasons, I never do participate in a teem work, because I believe in the individualism, and I substitute loyalty with my higher moral principles as defined in my camping mantra:

I Believe in POWER, MONEY, SPIRITUALITY and earthly delights like SEX, FOOD, DRUGS & LOVE.

Some may interpret it as antagonism, I call it free spirit.
The freedom has its inherent paradoxes.

  16. avatar Duplojohn says:

I heard in third period that Art told Sarah that Carl was doing something with sean and that Sean did’nt like it so he told Art and thenArt got really mad and went to Sarah and said “why diod you do that?” She did’nt know what to dssay so she called Carl and he said that Vern told him that Miguel Pulido was running unopposed for Mayor.

This all pissed Art off even more and so he called Sarah…..

Do we need to go on??????

    GROW UP EVERYONE

  17. DuploJohn,
I can tell you I am not doing anything with, for or to, Sean, so whatever you heard in that regard is simply false. The two sentences I wrote to Art privately regarding Sean, one was complementary, the other was an expression of apprehension in his being granted blogger status again. Remember too, I was one of the only voices to stand up publicly for Sean, the last time Art tossed him off the OJB, so make what you will of that.

I had no conversation with Vern about the mayor. Why would I? Vern isn’t even a resident of Santa Ana, it makes no sense at all.

As to the reasons why this whole mess occurred, I’m still scratching my head about it too. I was on my way out of the OJB when Sarah called me, the one time we spoke about it, prior to her taking action. Having a place that my work that is safe and protected is important to me, Sarah offered that and for that I am grateful. I will continue to post here for the foreseeable future.

I was not proud of the overall product that was becoming the “standard” and had reduced even further my participation in comments and made no posts for a couple of weeks prior to the election. Simply, the juice had soured for me. I have different standards of what I think a blog like OJB should be and the attitude and tenure of those who write for it, should be. I think of it as the new media, not unlike the print media of past. I try to put facts and opinion together and make people think as well as present them with facts that have not been made obvious by most other media outlets. I try to have, try to project, respect for others, even when we disagree. I don’t always accomplish that however, but I’m learning. I do not like the tone that some of the juice family have taken of late and didn’t feel that in good faith, I wanted to increase the readership of something I was not personally proud of.

There are those still in the juice family I have communicated with and will continue to, they are fine individuals, no matter where they are. I have chosen at least for now not to comment on their posts at OJB unless it’s via private email. I think everyone needs some time to reflect and cool down. There are still raw wounds that need time to heal and things that are inappropriate being said both publicly and in private emails. Until that comes to an end I will not participate in any way. I don’t subscribe to the guilt by association theory either, that is pure BS and the rhetoric of racial prejudice, hate and character assassination, is as well, I will not participate in any of that either. There are those who are truly guilty of such and making false accusations of others is counter productive to all of us as a society.

I bear no animus to anyone and wish them all well. I bear no guilt for anything that has transpired, however, I wish I had known what was really going to happen, I might have been able to change its ultimate course as it played out. Then again maybe not…we will never know.

So we move on now, with the hope that we are all a little wiser for the experience and don’t make the same mistakes again.

Lastly, I echo your final sentence as well.

  18. avatar Duplojohn says:

Holy shit it was a joke>

  19. :-) that’s cool
Since I have said very little, I figured it was time to be a little more specific. I was just waiting for everyone to calm down a little.
I totaly got the joke part, but I think there are a lot of rumors being thrown around too and just wanted to clear a few things up.

  20. I think it’s pretty obvious by now that the new OJ cabal is setting everyone up. This situation with Aloha is insane and was completely orchestrated by Thomas Gordon, the retaliation by Sean Mill. Aloha didn’t have her cart taken away when the photo was posted on The LibOC, it was taken away when it was posted on OJ.

    Everyone should remember that.

  21. Sarah,
Tom isn’t here, so he couldn’t have. He is off the net in CO right now. So at least he’s not part of this round of BS.

  22. avatar Stanley Fiala says:

Well Carl, Sarah and others, this OJ split phenomenon is a direct result of the cliquishness and loyalty to it. It is like cult, like gang and like terrorism. It is probably the most dangerous social grouping.

The reason for that is that cliques are formed usually by a charismatic sociopath. Art Pedroza is far cry to be charismatic but his a sociopath.

I have noticed that it is impossible to give an advise to the potential victims. It must take full cycle to realize a victimization.

On the bright side, Art Pedroza did not ordered his Temple members in Pedrozatown, Guyana to drink his Orange Juice yet.

I think it would be good idea to advise your group Pedroza to get out of here since they are a burden to the USA economy while Czech are propelling it. Counting all my businesses, technological inventions and employment which I have provided for this country since 1969 is more than 1000s of your people destroyed.

“Pedroza, Mr. Klaus is promoting same values as I am promoting in Santa Ana. It is only a matter of time before they will be realized here too. ”

Viva the Czech Republic Stan – be sure to book your flight back as soon as possible…

Truth which loser Pedroza would not publish:

  25. There is normal time for grieving.
    That time is passed.
Now is the time to open this blog and have a good time.

  26. Is anybody out there?
