Sales tax revenues in Santa Ana are dropping quicker than home values as frightened consumers stop spending, exotic car dealerships go out of business, and strip malls lay vacant.
The fees Santa Ana charges developers have disappeared as construction ground to a halt.
Property tax revenues are dwindling as home values decline.
Santa Ana is facing a future [...]
Despite just receiving 5.8 Million Dollars from HUD to be used for neighborhood stabilization, and despite having the highest concentrations of foreclosures in Orange County, The Santa Ana City Council is content to sit on the sidelines and watch vast swaths of this once glorious city decay.
Regardless of what the expensive, shiny campaign mailers tell you, Santa Ana has some blown out streets, as witnessed above.
And now that the election is safely behind us, the media is getting around to telling us the truth.
All those streets the politicians told you they fixed, or were soon about to……….

Barack Obama is the President-elect of the United States. A quick, painless landslide capped off by a particularly ass-kissing speech by John McCain, my friends. No late night. No recounts. No Florida. No Ohio. Ohio, by the way, not shocking me with their selection; we pundits don’t always call them right [...]

The man demanded the keys, the couple refused, [...]
